Where am I? What am I doing? I’m a being a Super Mayor, somewhere in London!

Unless you’ve been stuck in a bunker for the last six months, you might have noticed that social geo-location has become quite a big deal. In fact, apparently, it’s the next big thing. Services have been integrating ‘geo’ or location based information (twitter has begun geo-tagging tweets with latitude and longitude information) and new platforms such as Foursquare and Gowalla have emerged, allowing users to ‘check-in’ to venues and places across the word.

But what’s the point?

Banking on ideas

August 2nd, 2010 by Manjit Gahir

There are benefits to a ‘bank’ of ideas that can be cross-referenced and searched across as and when needed. Nifty little display

August 1st, 2010 by Manjit Gahir

We came across Air Display – a nifty little app that turns your iPad into a second display. Useful for de-cluttering your view – like Skype, Photoshop tools and twitter feeds. It’s not quick as you would like it to be but it makes good use of the iPad when you’re using your Mac. All you then need is a stand (we recommend Movie Peg).

Although multitasking isn’t new, Apple has made it a joy to use (remember Apple’s eagerly awaited ‘cut and paste’?). However, I still think further enhancements can be made. The problem is that, although Apple’s native apps are pretty memory efficient – thus using less battery life; third party apps usually aren’t. Users often forget to ‘close’ apps. This can be a drain on battery life. Users need some visual cue to serve as a reminder that apps are running in the background.

Maybe something in the status bar at the top of the interface:

iPhone- with Apps icon in status bar

You can then switch to the multitasking view and ‘close’ all apps in one go. Maybe something like this:
